OCTOBER MEETING THIS SUNDAY, 10-26-2025! 2:00PM Oaklands Mansion

Please join us for our October 2025 RCAS meeting on Sunday, October 26th at 2:00 p.m. featuring Historian Roxanne Jenkins from Clarksville’s Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center.

This presentation will explore the interplay between physical artifacts, documentary history, and collective memory in constructing the identity of Valentine Sevier’s Station. Mrs. Jenkins will offer a critical evaluation of the station’s origins and authenticity based on archaeological investigations and interpretive frameworks. The talk also discusses how local traditions influence historical recognition and preservation decisions in a rapidly changing urban context.

Roxanne Jenkins is a historical interpreter for Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s historical properties. She received her MA in Public History from Arizona State University and completed her graduate internship at The Middle Tennessee Museum of Natural History in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Mrs. Jenkins also volunteered as an interpreter at Stones River National Battlefield before completing her side quest teaching math for Rutherford County schools. She now works as an interpreter at Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Our meetings are free and open to the public. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. with refreshments and the meeting/presentation will begin at 2:00 p.m.
